    I think the norm would be brass with brown. I have a two prong, nickle buckle on my brown kilt belt, though. The real problem would probably come from having some brass and some nickle on different parts of the outfit. My kilt has brown and black mixed together, though, so I don't worry too much. Also, have a kilt pin on it that is a combination of silver and gold to tie it together a bit as a theme.

    The third, lower buckle on a kilt might be an issue if you are too picky. In my mind, the silver on brown kind of looks colder than with the brass or gold.
