New American heritage ordered!
I've been lusting for a new kilt, but as I have posted elsewhere, I'm in the middle of a significant weight loss program. I'm down over 50 lbs from my max with even more than that still to go, and I expect to lose several inches from my waist and hips. I have a couple of SWK thrifties, and for their price, if they get too large, well I can stand it. Rocky's site seemed to really encourage contacting them with questions regarding fit, so I did. Rocky and I had a very nice chat, and the upshot is I ordered an American Heritage casual. He has about an 8-9 week wait list to get started on a kilt these days, so he's going to call before they actually start on my kilt, and get a fresh set of measurements. I certainly hope they will be needed. $140 is still a lot to put into a garment for me (I'm sure its worth it, Rocky), which is what a USK casual costs for a guy in my size. Customer service! I love it!
Now I just have to keep from snacking to ease the jitters of anticipation

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

It was great speaking with you today, Geoff. Keep up the weight loss program!
BTW... One thing we neglected to discuss today... if you're "on a roll" when your order is up to be made, and you plan on losing MORE weight, I can hold on to the order and just push it back a few more weeks to let you either level off in your weight loss or lose a few more inches before I get started. I don't want you 'jonsing' TOO badly, but I don't want you to stop losing weight and getting healthier! We'll chat at the 8 week mark.

Oh, I will be losing more weight, but I expect that I will be fairly stable as far as inches go at that point. We will figure it out. Thanks!

They are great at USA Kilts. May your jonesing not be so bad, and congratulations on the weight loss. Keep it going and enjoy the journey.

You will love the tartan. The kilt wears very well, my semi trad is getting a lot wear as it fits great, and once on, I hate to take it off. It has become my uniform for the classroom, and my students give me plenty of ribbing about it.
