It seems like a really good deal, even if it's not a desirable tartan. You could always sell it or let your last born inherit it.

Recall this MOB said, “You mean you expect us to pay for it?”

I've dealt with countless MOB's over the years, my well-honed instincts are shouting in my ear that something ain't right with this woman.

It's OK with me if she doesn't call back. There're plenty of clients who don't mind compensating me with federal reserve notes.

I'll consider the merits of posting a graphic of the tartan.....

Sounds like that MOB has unrealistic expectations. Might be a good idea to pass on that job.

There was a reason coin replaced barter.

After a bit of introspection, I decided to post a graphic of the tartan in question. It's a Menzies tartan. And since they have a dozen or so to choose from (several are quite handsome), perhaps none of them & their ilk will take too much offense for me to call this one ugly. The dominant color is called 'mauve'. At best, I'd describe it as non-masculine.

Here 'tis. What man with red blood coursing through his veins would wear a kilt sewn from this? Sure as hell not this bubba.

When I figure out my fees for any freelance job I have, my formula goes like this:

(My Expences +15%)+ ((My time*My Rate)+15%)+(How much $$ it takes to bribe me to put up with the client)=fee

It is amazing how hight the third item can be /or in the case of one group that is so wonderful to work with, it is actually a negative number, because they make the job so easy, I never put in as many hours I think I should.

Granted, what I wear when I work is never part of the issue -- the public never sees me.

    Cheers

Wow. The Menzies black/white is nice. I've never seen that mauve color however. I have to agree it is most unattractive.

Heed those instincts, and recall the words of the cynic Diogenes:

"The MOB is the mother of tyrants.”
