    It's subject to conjecture now.

A serious bride contacted me about 30 minutes ago. Same date & approximate time as MOB was contemplating.

This bride wasn't concerned about a specific tartan, only that I wear a kilt at her ceremony and perform as she specified.

Most importantly, she's paid the deposit to secure the date/time.

Experience & intuition tell me I'll won't hear from previous MOB again.

    Slainte yall,
    steve

Yup. Money talks.... Whoever pays their deposit first gets the contract.

Bet ya a jelly donut that you get a desperate call from the first MOB (eventually, once she realizes she can't get anyone to agree to her silly demands or everyone else is booked solid) begging you to come play, choice of tartan notwithstanding... Either that, or in desperation offer to pay for the kilt AND your fee...

So it's still whoever pays the piper that calls the tune. It sounds as though the bride will be the one in control.

That tartan is horrible, at least on the screen. Colours can be very different in the cloth - though that one really is a lulu.

I supose that if someone did get an almost free kilt in it that a box of Dylon in black would improve it somewhat.

My eldest is getting married next year, and his mother in law is going to cause some fun and games getting things organised - I have already warned him to tell her that any shenanigans on the day and she will be wearing an ice bucket.

<< Bet ya a jelly donut that you get a desperate call from the first MOB...>>

It seems I may owe you a pastry… we have several shops in Memphis that offer them. Elvis was a big fan of them.

MOB telephoned last evening wanting to book me at my price and wearing tartan of my own choice.

I extended my regrets regarding my unavailability. A brief silence ensued. Then she launched her tirade.

Unbeknownst to me, I’d been instructed to hold the date/time indefinitely until she, bride, et al. decided what to do. I don’t recall that order and wouldn’t matter anyway, for it takes a deposit to secure an event date.

MOB questioned my ethics, she cited discrimination, denigrated my musical competency - she even threatened legal action.
    Apparently I violated her rights.

Nothing good comes from wrestling with a muddy pig. I ended the conversation and blocked her telephone number.

Good grief. Thank heavens few wackos like her ever contact me.

    Slainte,
    steve
