Here is another brass-cantled sporran of similar provenance worn by the Duke of Argyll.

Looking at the side pocket in the picture of the Duke (see above) it appears he's wearing a home converted tweed jacket cut for kilt. So although his sporran's worth a million quid his jacket's worth about a tenner.

I think that's ACE!!

I've seen that picture on http://www.ccsna.org/. I never noticed that it was a brass cantle. I assumed it was leather.
