Good Morning All ! ! !
Just a nice photo to start the day right !
As I will be in Brittany for the next 5 days, I thought it would be nice to share this little wonder with you all before I jump in the train .
I suspect this venerable picture was taken in... Montreal, Canada.
Have a nice week,
Robert

It is a nice picture. Why do you think it is Montréal?

Look at that. Look at that! They made all the kilted gentlemen stand while the superior trousered gentlemen got to sit. I'm glad things like that don't go on in Canada anymore.

It wouldn't be unusual for something like this to pop up in Nineteenth Century photography...it looks more like there was painting done on either the original negative or on a copy of the negative to either put the background in or to "clean up" the background. It looks very much like several of the figures are "stripped in" and that it's a composite photo anyway...again, common in the Nineteenth Century. This stuff didn't start the day that Photoshop was invented.
Best
