I wear, from time to time(not at the same time!), both a bowler and a topper, but never with the kilt.I don't think I ever will.

I say if you really care what other people think, then don't do it. If on the other hand you don't really give a flying flip what others think, do it.

Ron, I can't but help hear the immortal Wendy O. Williams singing the chorus of "It's My Life":

It's my life, And I do what I wanna, do what I wanna, do what I like
It's my life, And I do what I wanna, do what I wanna do.

I've been a hat collector since my youth. Love hats, but seldom wear them (go figure).

Was down in Tucson for a conference last summer and an Apache guy had a top hat with a 7th Cavalry crosses swords metal insignia attached. Looked very cool. Course he is Apache and was wearing jeans.

Top hat just seems, as mentioned, to be powerful if worn properly. Maybe if I wore my hair down and loose I'd have more of an Apache look....and yes, I know Apache's didn't fight the 7th...

Maybe I could attach my clan crest to the front of the top hat...

Ain't it great to be free to be free and to experiment!?

And having a little Captain in you Doesn't hurt.

I think Phogfan86 hit it right when he said "If you have the confidence to wear either (and from my short lime on XMTS, I think you are a very confident person), then go for it. You're probably going to look just fine."

I think you can do it.

But silly is good! Check out Ron's Hospital White Kilt, if he can pull that off he can pull off a Top Hat! Slash did!

When I think of bowler hats, I always think of them on big, burly Irish barmen named "Jumbo" or "Big ......". Hmm, bowler in the closet, kilt in the closet, have to get them together soon.
