I wore kilts everyday at my last place of employment, and the reaction I received was for the most part positive, of course as you say being neat and tidy and wearing a traditional kilt helps.
Here is a picture of me in the office for our Christmas party last year

To the Chartered Accountant across the Sea, hello and welcome from an American Certified Public Accountant from Houston, TX. I hope you enjoy it here...
Counsellor: Well, do you have any idea of what you want to do?
Mr. Anchovy: Yes, yes I have.
Counsellor: What?
Mr. Anchovy: (boldly) Lion taming.
Counsellor: Well yes. Yes. Of course, it's a bit of a jump isn't it? I mean, er, chartered accountancy to lion taming in one go. You don't think it might be better if you worked your way toward lion taming, say, via banking...

Many of us in the colonies wear kilts to work in all sorts of jobs. You have the perfect venue for working kilted. Agree that tartan kilts may seem most professional, maybe switch to the utility kilts on casual Fridays.
A simple alternative to the sporran getting in the way is to wear a vest with pockets...of course if your office is in your home you may not need to carry much stuff anyway.
I'm guessing you'll get many referrals because of your kilts. There's another new thread running about using kilts to business advantage. You might also consider using tartan throws on furniture in your office, or hanging some pictures with kilted themes. Would blend your kilts with your office.
And remember, many of the men who might make negative comments about kilts really do admire them and wish they had the courage to wear them too.
Welcome aboard.
