You know that the UK doesn't recognise it when you try to renounce your citizenship, right? They won't let you stop being British even if you want to. There is no such thing as an ex-Scot, or even an ex-Sassenach, LOL!
As for the other lot, the case law is that if you are a naturalised Yank you can only lose your American citizenship if you join the civil service of your old country or voluntarily join it's armed forces. Maybe also if you became a Scottish spy, LOL! (I'm not a lawyer). At any rate, holding a British passport is allowed, as long as you always use an American one at US Immigration. Just so you know.
