Happy belated!
And listen, it could be worse: growing up with a birthday exactly 2 weeks after New Years, no one ever remembered my special day (including my folks!) until I became a husband!
I thought I was catching a karmic break when my birthday became a National Holiday (MLK Day), you know, at least I'd score a day off & all, but then they went & did that Monday observance thing; as the final insult to injury, the last time it did fall on a Monday, they still left the word observed on all the calendars! Arghhh!

I'll have to check my profile. Thanks for the kind words.
I really did enjoy it. I did some things I thought were fun, but I'm an old, boring guy. Usually a birthday celebrant gets taken to lunch at work, but that then always involved wait staff coming over and singing and there are sparklers and free bad cake, and I've never been one for that kind of stuff. So, my coworkers got me a card and my boss brought some very yummy garlic and onion bagels with a schmeer.
Then, last night, my wife and two sons and I went to a local pub for some good, greasy bar food.
Pretty simple, but that's the way I like it.

Once, at a business conference in San Antonio, I wound up going to different places for dinner with a group of ladies from work. I think I had a birthday four times that week (and it was April, my birthday's in November).

Belated Happy Birthday! It sounds like you had a nice birthday. When you get to be my age, you just wish it would go by without anyone noticing!
