Thanks everyone...I've decided to take Rex and Scully's idea combined and purchased a lithograpic framed (Rosewood) picture lamp that I had engraved with the following inscription:

"I will always be with you my love"

good call, chase. i was going to suggest simply writing a heart-felt letter. i've done that on several occasions when i simply had no idea what to get someone special to me. sounds like you've got it sorted.

i have a brother who's a pilot in the army who served in the first gulf war and then in afghanistan. thank god for combat medics.
