    The question(s)

This past Sunday, my wife and I went out for dinner and a movie (The Secret Life of Bees). We went to a place we've been wanting to go for dinner for a long time. I've been kilted since school on Friday, so off we went. Got to the restaurant, walked in and got some stares from the bar, but expected it. Our waitress came over and said, "I've never met a man in a kilt before and was wondering if you...?" and I said "No!" and she came right back, "So do you...?" to which I quickly replied with a smile "Why, yes I do." and she went off to place our order.
My wife looked puzzled and asked about our very short discussion about my kilt, and I told her that the first question was going to be, "Do you play the bagpipes?" and my wife wryly added "And the second was about your underwear?" And I said yes.....
Our puzzled waitress came back with our dinner and earnestly started asking about my kilt and her earlier questions. I told her that I get those two questions so often that I decided to play with her mind a bit and answer her before she had a chance to ask them properly.
Dinner was great AND so was the movie. People in kilts DO get asked the darndest questions.

I'd like to hear a review of the movie also. My experience has too often been that the movie is not nearly as good as the book. I hope I am wrong this time.

    Hey all
The movie was pretty close to the book. They cut some parts out but a well made flick. I am using the book for my English Honors class and will get the movie when it comes out. The book, though, is a lot richer to read because of the way that Sue Monk Kidd uses the language to weave the story. There were parts of the movie that were real tear jerkers. Between my wife and I we went through a half a box of Kleenex Dakota Fanning and Queen Latifah were great as the two main characters. It is definately worth the price of admission and worth renting when it hits the stores. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars out of five How's that for a review.

You're lucky her first question was about the bagpipes and not the other way around...I can see it now...1st question, "Do you have anything under that kilt?" "No I don't, 2nd question, "Do you play the bagpipes?" Yes I do!

She might have asked you to prove it...LOL...Both would have been a bit embarrassing...LOL
