    Help with Argyll Waistcoat

I just received my matching waistcoat to my Argyll jacket and for the life of me, I can't figure out how the adjustment in the back works. My question is, how in the world do you put the two ends together? Obviously I've never owned a vest before now.

Good idea! But the pictures are not coming out so good, too much glare. Perhaps if I describe the back. It's a satin back with what I believe are called "belt adjustments." Two strips of satin, one ending in a silver doodad that you thread the other through. I just can't figure out how to thread them correctly.

Aye, there's the rub- just what does that silver doodad look like?! Now I have to go check all my waistcoats. Back soon.

My second question is, where do you stick the excess strap after you've adjusted it?

you can leave it hanging or sort of wrap it around the rest of the strap. Glad I could help.

WOW! If we were gunslingers in the old west and it were highnoon and we were facing each other in the middle of main street and everyone was hiding behind doors and peekng through windows, I'd be dead. And not only that, but the sun would be in my eyes!

My Argyll waistcoat (or weskit, as my mom says) has a sliding buckle and does not come apart. another vest has two d-rings. A third losts its silver doodad and so I just ties the ends together. So, I am no help, as you may have guessed.

It could have been any number of buckles hitches, or duhickies, so I couldn't have helped anyway.

And as always, a small safetypin might help with the extra length of the strap if it is in the way.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
