The Nor Cal Rabble shall gather one last time this year with our friends at the Devils Canyon Brewing Company this Friday December 19th for their last Kilt Night of the year! And it is certain to be a real hoot as the Devils Canyon Brewery presents their annual…

Beer Friday Holiday Hootenanny!

The bands are yet to be announced but for the musically inclined make sure to bring your instruments (that means you ALAN!)

They are having a food drive for the Second Harvest food Bank (it would be a really nice gesture for we kilted folks to bring canned goods and support the DCB and Second Harvest)

Calling all guys in kilts (traditional tartan kilts, home-made kilts, Utilikilts, any darned kilt!)... That's right, mark your calendars for the Devils Canyon Brewery Hootenanny / and our monthly kilt mixer in Belmont!

Friday December 19th from 5 pm on. Rain-or-Shine. Most of the kilt crew starts trickling in around 7 pm, although no doubt that Tim will be there at 5... first in line for a cold brew and checking out the opening band.

Holiday Party the Devil's Canyon Brewery Style with lots of cool singles, couples, families (and the odd puppy or two). No stress meet-and-greet with cool, fun loving, people in a casual, relaxing, atmosphere. No cover charge! Live music, great hot food at really decent prices, indoor and outdoor seating with cozy propane heat lamps and couches inside & outside! Come with plans to have fun! Bring a friend (or two)!

No-host bar. $4 (16 oz.) award-winning microbrews (The first brew is $6 to pay for your spiffy DCB beer glass!). Don't miss their fantastic "Full Boar Scotch Ale" !!!! as well as about a 1/2 dozen other great draft selections!

Put on your kilt and come join the fun! The proprietors will be expecting us! If we get advance notice on the bands that will be playing, we will be sure to post info. here!

Devil's Canyon Brewing Company: 111 Industrial Way #7, Belmont CA 94002

WARNING: This place can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so pay attention; It is located in the north/east corner of the Harbor Business Center, right off of Harbor Blvd exit from S/B Hwy. 101, driveway just east of Industrial. It can be a bit difficult to find the first time. Just copy down the detailed directions from the link above and you'll find it! If in doubt, park in the lot and listen for the music!

They are open to the public just one night per month. They call the event "Beer Friday." Their doors open at 5 pm and things tend wrap up between 11 pm and midnight. We have no affiliation with the brewing company, it is just a convenient location on the Peninsula and a great place to hold a casual mixer in a central location (plus Dan and Chris are good people!).

I hate to do this to all my devoted fans, but I won't be there after all.



My work holiday party has been scheduled for the same night. I am annoyed, especially since I did let the manager of the clinic know that I was NOT available that night. But....because I care for the staff and I appreciate everything they do for me every day, I HAVE to be there.

I will be making my displeasure known to the organizers though.

The kiddies will be with me, or a sitter, or friends, so they won't be there either.

I'm sorry, it looks like it's going to be a blast!

Maybe Jamie can bring the "Pink Death" kilt to show off.

No, not on himself! He'll be wearing Isle of Skye (take note walkerk).

Somehow a "Pink Death" and Isle of Skye tartan night doesn't sound very fun without my lovely wife at the DCB.

Let's save that for a kilt night that X Marks the Scot's own Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess can be there in all her Pink Death glory.

So dress as you will.

Scooby will be glad to see Sinbad and Xena, he would have been less happy to be the only kilted youngster there.

Since we lack Pick Death, perhaps we will wear Yellow Peril, our "weathered saffron" from the late summer, I had thought of wearing it to my yoga classes solstice dinner, but it seems to have fallen victim to refurbishing week at the "Y." Scooby may insist on the denim though.
