    An Early Christmas Gift

YES!! My wife gave my two youngest boys and myself an early Christmas gift: SWK Blackwatch tartn kilts!! They are INCREDIBLE!! We'll be wearing them to Christmas Eve services and everywhere else. In fact my 7 year old declared that his pants just bother him too much and he should just wear his kilt all the time!

We tried talking our 17 year old son into a kilt but apparently being 17 and kilted here in Reedsport just isn't cool. Oh well, his loss.

Once we get photos I'll try and get over my technology issues and post some pictures.

Congratulations on the early Christmas gifts. You are blessed with a with a wife who is wise in the ways of the kilt.

Excellent! I gave both my boys (9 & 6) kilt last year, and while they don't wear them as much as I do, they do enjoy them. Great wife!

Tell the seventeen year old to get over it and get that kilt on. I have a similar problem with my twenty year old son who not only thinks that I'm mashugana for wearing the kilt but has also gone on his Facebook page and done a couple of rants about what a doofus his old man is for doint the kilt thing. I will be getting my own Facebook page and going on about every dumbass thing that he did growing up...do you think that he'll "friend" me?

BUT...there is a young fella at my daughter's high school who wears the kilt and is held in absolute awe by all who behold him. I met his parents at a school function and the story is that they went to Scotland and the kid was SO impressed that he demanded that they get him a kilt while they were there...I think that they got a family tartan (Dad's of Scottish extraction and mom's Jewish...so this kid really does have some serious stones to get into the kilt, eh?). Anyway...if anybody gives him any guff, he just toughs it out and that has enhanced his reputation as a totally cool individual. I often go to school functions in full kilted regalia but haven't run into the young fella yet. My daughter often wears one of her kilts to school as well...in her own rather "punk" style...but she does wear tartan rather than a simple black one, so she's got that goin' for her.

C'Mon, young man! Push the outside of the high school fashion envelope! Celebrate the heritage!

Glad that the young 'un is getting into the spirit, though!

    Best

Independence of norms is a matter for young kids and old people.

What a thoughtful wife you have.
    Don't forget to send pics.

And forget not the wise words of others on this forum, "if there are no pics, it didn't happen".
