A temporary goodbye

Ladies and Gentlemen, I regret to announce that I will be going 'off-air' sometime in the next 4 weeks when I start an 18 month voyage around the North Atlantic. I am currently aboard in Malta with all my belongings stowed and a list of tasks that need to be completed before we can leave. The ship belongs to friends of mine and they have asked me to accompany them in their trip.

An offer I could not refuse.

Internet access at present is possible, but with the amount of work to be done, including provisioning, I may not get time to check the board regularly between now and when we leave.

If you are interested in the voyage, I am keeping a Voyage Log although there is not a lot in there at the moment.

If all goes well, we may be visiting America and perhaps I will be able to meet up with some of you who live there. We will have to see how things go. This is not a cruise liner, just over 100ft long, so we will have to cooperate with nature, not bash on regardless.

Why is it guys in kilts do such amazing things? Do they wear a kilt because they are so adventurous or are they so adventurous because they wear a kilt?
