The kilt a hit at Honey Baked Ham Store
This morning I went to get a Honey Baked Ham...at the Honey Baked Store, wearing the kilt of course.
If you've never been to one, it's Christmas time...and it was FULL to capacity, long and snaking lines in order to get to the counter where 6-7 women are waiting for customers to place their orders.
OK, so im waiting in line, and I probably had 4-5 other customers chat me about the kilt, scottish heritage, type of tartan, are you cold, etc.
That was all good and then it got better when I finally was first in line and 3 of the women were free as their customers had their orders fulfilled, soo all 3 of them started taking 'dibs' on who would take my order.
I finally decided for the woman in the middle and put myself at her mercy, you know the drill 'I have no clue about hams, could you help me choose?'
I was asked everything from why was I not red haired if all scots were, type of tartan, 'the question', are you cold, do I know so and so (apparently they also wear kilts daily, tho in a 500k metro its hard to know them, what my kilt pin meant (Young family pin), etc.
One of the women couldnt believe there were 8 yards of material in my kilt so I had her check the pleats and how warm it is, etc.
In short, I revolutionized the St. Matthews @ Shelbyville HBH Store(for the locals), I had a blast, I made a couple people's day by simply wearing the kilt...and I ended up with a super Ham that wife and I will enjoy.

Power of the kilt in drawing the honeys (and ham). You should title this story "Kilted gams get honey hams" ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

It is something people won't see every day. You become a sort of celebrity when kilted in public. It is amazing how many other men will give you a "thumbs-up" when they see you. Probably jealous or too chicken to do it themselves.
Women just get all watery in the knees, and want to talk. It Rules............
On the other hand, I think it's funny that here in Idy-ho, where we are being over-run by those of another ethnic group..........(don't get started on that Tim!) {OK I won't}
how many I catch staring. When they catch me catching them, they all look away quickly.
It all comes down to the fact that kilts rule!
Fide et Fortitudine, aye!

Wish I'd known you were going to be there--you drove almost right past my house to get there. I live about a mile and a half from that store, and use the Post Office next door (not to mention several other merchants in that shopping plaza and nearby).
Of course, I would have been sporting a contemporary kilt, as I have no traditional ones.

Nice!! I used to work with the daughter of the family who started that chain. She was a redhead... I wish I could remember her name. We worked at a movie theater, and she was only there for a few weeks, until she graduated high school. Nice girl. She's the reason that I still buy from HBH. I refuse to drink Coors because I went to school with one of the heirs to the Coors fortune. He was a little... Shall we say not very nice person.
