Good on ya Josh. The confidence that you had to muster up on this trip will soon be replaced by the real confidence that comes from/with kilt wearing. congratulations on making that first nervous trip out of the house. The more you wear your kilt out the more confident and comfortable you will be come.

Thanks, Josh.
My daughter just saw your pic and commented "Hey he looks cute!" (Her words not mine; I've been a cowboy for way too long to use the term "cute" unless it really applies. Cowboy definition of cute=brainless and bowlegged. I told her that you are a smart looking chap.
She has been trying to get her husband into a kilt ever since they got married last May. I have him looking at looking at Stillwater and USA Kilts so I think it will just be a matter of time now.

In Canadian funds, it cost me about $430 from Scotweb. I was, however, shocked with the taxes and duties that the government hit me with. They came to a total of $152. Put that together with $50 shipping (my choice, priority, insurance and tracking) and it got very costly, very quickly. Oh well, it's my good 16 oz dress one. I'll get a casual kilt for "likely to soil moments" (highland games, beer, scotch and wings nights, etc.).

I didn't know there was such a tartan! Being a fan of former Denver Bronco John Lynch, I wish I would have known- I'd have gotten one years ago! That's a nice kilt, by the way, and welcome to the board!

Thanks Nighthawk. I had a few tartans to choose from from the different Scottish surnames in my family. But since my last name is McClinchey, which Lynch is a modern variant of, I thought it most fitting. I even emailed the tartan authority to make sure it was in keeping with the culture to dress in tartans of name variant and they said it was, of course, in perfect keeping. I have a Donaldson on my grandfather's side, and a MacDonald on my grandmother's side, so a Clan Donald tartan may be in my future. Cheers!
