Weathered Ulster & Canadian Irish Reg't

Burnett's & Struth has ON SALE Casual Kilts in both the much coveted Weathered Ulster and the tartan of what I believe was the only kilted Irish regiment, the Canadian Irish Reg't (they call it the O'Saffron):

    $199.00 (I believe that's Canadian dollars).

Yep, Tulsa, Oklahoma. One of the first American city tartans, designed in the 1970s as part of Tulsa's Scottish community. There is quite a bit of Scottish blood mixed in with the Native Americans who were moved to the Indian Territory.

That sure does look like the Canadian Irish Regiment's tartan -- and you are correct; they are the Irish regiment that is kilted (in terms of all ranks, not just musicians.)

FM, Thanks for your post. $165 was just to hard to resist. Some vary unique tartans to say the least. I fell in love with the Ulster tartan and placed an order for the Ulster casual today.

BTW, I got an e-mail today from Mrs Margaret Struth-Gaff, the Managing Director. These kilts are 16 oz wool and delivery is 2-4 weeks. She also indicated that she has some additional tartans she would like to add. I had ordered the Ulster a few days a few days ago, and ordered the Modern MacNab today. $165 for a machine sewn 16 oz wool casual is hard to beat.

Any ideas which ones she is planning to add? Inquiring minds want to know.
