Even before I wore the kilt with anything like the frequency I now do, I did make a point of wearing it to see each new year in - and wearing it all day on Ne'erday. The only difference now is that I have been wearing an Ancient Forsyth tank all day anyway so I don't have to rush to get changed as the old year peters out ...

We too have developed a family tradition of a hike on the local White Horse Hill on New Year's Day and I will certainly be kilted for that - I'd be too cold out on the exposed hill without the kilt
