I have raised the highlanders for 8 years. They are very easy to deal with. I used a lot of them in my petting zoo for the kids to see what they look like. The meat is very lean. (the best ribeye) The milk of the cows is real high in butter fat. So you can make lots of butter and cheese. The bad things are the prices ant the auction are low. (do to the hair) Calfing is really easy, but try to make sure they dont give birth in the fly season. The calfs stay wet for a long time. (the flies lay their eggs in the calf wet hair) But for the most part I love dealing with them. I have one stear left the I train to ride and pull a cart. He is one of the best riding cows I have trained. If you need to ask me anthting else let me know and I will try to help you. I still have alot of friends that deal with them.
