Story to tell.

Not sure if i mentioned this one before.

After the movie Made of Honor came out on DVD, I went to a local Walmart to pickup a copy for my wife. a) because she wanted it and b) because her McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy was in it in a (Mini)Kilt. And there were lots of kilts throughout.

I'm at the Electronics counter being "assisted" by a bald guy (shaved head) covered in tattoos and a girl that won't look up from the floor. Both are trying, badly, to hide their laughter.

Knowing full well what their issue was, I asked if she was OK.

I don't really have a moral or an ending to this story. This just kinda stuck with me.

Why would you care about them? You'll never see them again. You now why you bought that DVD, why should it matter what they think?

I think you missed the main part, that i was kilted while buying the dvd.

I might have shrugged and said, "Hey, what can I say? My wife is crazy about men in kilts. I'm really not sure if we're going to make it all the way through this movie, if you know what I mean."

Anyway, you gotta admit there was a sort of irony about the whole thing. The ability to laugh at oneself on occasion will carry you through as many situations as being confrontational might and no one gets hurt.

I don't think he missed the point. Why should someone in a store where you wanted to make a purchase make any difference? They had the product and you wanted it and you got it.
As for the two people having a mickey at you? I think you handled it well unless you wanted to get into a confrontation.
If I am not in a kilt I am in shorts and People are always asking me if I am cold? I reply with I have 7 yards of wool wrapped around my body but my hands are cold.

I would have just frowned them, bought the thing and not come back really. (I'm very picky anyway - I always WANT good service xD).

And about what Mr. Bill said above, I tend to say that too - and the fun thing is, my hands ARE actually the only thing that's really cold :S even though my knees are bare under a kilt (obviously) I dinnae feel cold in a kilt
