Edinburgh Military Tattoo tickets
Fellow XMarkers,
I find myself in somewhat of a dilemma. My wife and I are going to Scotland for the Gathering and we intended to extend our stay in order to attend the Tattoo in Edinburgh on August 7, unfortunatly according to their site there are no tickets available on that date which is the longest we can stay in Scotland. While I am somewhat disapointed, my main focus will be the Gathering and sightseeing to follow. My wife however wanted to see the Tattoo more than anything. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other sources for tickets. At this point, I'll take what I can get as long as they (2 tickets) are for August 7th. Your help will be greatly appreciated and if we meet up, I'll owe you more than a few drams!

Won't the tattoo be part of the evening celebrations at the Gathering?

No the Gathering is the 25th july the Tattoo runs August 7-29. I believe the gatherings organizer didn't want any detraction, besides since the parade is from Holyrood to the Castle, the esplenade would be full without the bands. It's a shame that they weren't one week apart instead of two

I'd try Keith Prowse tickets agency - use Google to find them. They often buy blocks of them for resale.
Good luck
Graham.

I am so pleased for you. I know you will enjoy every second. If I may, can I make a wee suggestion? I know August is supposed to be in the height of summer here, but take an extra pullover(sweater) and a light waterproof coat, just in case the heat wave of the century is not going to happen this year.

Sounds like you got Luckey with the tickets!
I hope you and your wife have a great time!
...and I'll forgive you for your avatar...I'm a slightly depressed Pens fan. It's OK, I'll get over it.

Billy Connolly said, "There are two seasons in Scotland: June and winter."
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!
