    Need help with postage fees

    Hey all...

I'm not that good with the Net,but i'm trying to ge an idea of how much it would cost to send 2x kilts (in the same package) From the UK to Canada.
Had some ridiculously high and some moderatly low prices.
Shipping zip code is TD1 2RA from the UK
Receiving postal code is J5Y 2J5 from CAN

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Eric

It will depend on size of package and weight. I returned one from Alberta to Glasgow. Sent it back in the same box it came in and the charge was more than I paid to have it shipped it was lighter going back as I had several items that I kept. I tokk it back and repackaged into a smaller box and the price was better. I'm sure if you figure out the weight ( 2 8 yard 16oz kilts wpould weigh about 5 kg and then figure out what size and shape of box canada post or which ever courier company you want to use will be able to tell you. It also depends on how quickly it needs to get their and how much insurance you need/want to put on it. Good luck though it will be pricey I'm sure.
Freedom kilts or rkilts might beable to give you actual $ figure.

The only sure way to know up front what the shipping charges will be is to ask the person who will actually be shipping your package. An email to them asking for the shipping charges would not be a bad thing.
Most are more than happy to let you know before they ship.

To estimate yourself for regular mail shipping costs from the UK to Canada you should visit the ParcelForce web site.

    http://www.pfwwsg.parcelforce.com/po...ar=pricingcalc

    You will need to know;

The packages total weight in kg.
The packages length, width, & height dimensions in cm.
The senders address including Postal Code.
The receivers address including Postal Code.
The description of the package contents.

Sorry I can't be more help. My average postal charge for a Kilt from Scotland is £16.50. That does not include GST and duty charges by Canada Post, Canada Border Services or the individual carrier such as FedEx, or UPS.

note: If you can, please tell your shipper to use ParcelForce to ship your package not FedEx or UPS. These courier services are authorized to act as their own import broker and receive payment as a percentage of the amount they recover. So naturally they always charge the maximum allowable by law.

There is a limit of 2Kg on air mail through our Post Office - it could be that by packing the two kilts separately the total cost would be less than using a courier service for the single heavier package.
