Hand Knitted Hose Tops

The idea isn't new, nor is it original. It seems many had the same idea at the same time.

Our concern a few years back was to avoid an economical disaster to our family by over indulging in a (legitimate) craving for quality kilt hose.

I just wanted to use excellent quality ribbed socks I could find in any store here in France and ask (beg) my Lady Chrystel to knit some hose tops for me.

These would be interchangable from one pair of socks to another and would thus last a life time.

There is an extra lenght of hose at the top folded back inside the sock. This hidden part is knitted in a simple way to avoid unpleasant thickness.
No lastic band. The flashes hold everything up in place.
