Kilt sighted in Walmart
Tonight, I spotted a fellow in kilted in the Wallace tartan in the local Walmart. I said to him, nice . . . kilt! His look of aprehension turned to a big smile with a thanks.
I found out he was from the corporate office of the Pub restaurant which is opening one here. I told him I had met the manager a couple of months, ago. Will they opened this week. He told me the kilted staff are really enjoying their kilts.
Time for a kilt night at Fredericksburg's latest watering hole

More people wearing kilts in public places = more people accustomed to seeing men in kilts. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Is the kilted staff men, women or both?

After the Robert Burns Supper last evening, http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/p...x.html?t=44718, the XMARKers made a trip to the local Irish pub. I suggested to the lead bartender that men on staff ought to wear kilts. The staff all wear black shirts and black pants or shorts. Black kilts would be classy. We were all there in our PC's.

I was in a walmart today in my new gordon, and one of the employees was happy, he has two that he wears in dayton, and when one of the girls working next to him asked what the occasion was, I just said "I like to wear kilts." and he had some kind of really 'HA' sound he made as he gloated to the other employees. I don't think that was the first time kilts had come up around them...

It still amazes me that most of the time some guy is giving me a hard time about my kilt, it's usually a woman that comes to stand up for me. Not always, but most women seem to respect a guy in a kilt and will go to bat for him. Even in Wal Mart...

I think that women stand up for a man in a kilt because, one, they like to see kilted men and two, they sympathize with experiences of wearing skirts, dresses and the like and dealing with vulgar men.

casual kilt day...
I had a kilted day of errand running this afternoon and I got the same reaction all around... none. There was a small group while shopping at Target today that said something behind my back about 'that guy in the skirt', but that's gonna happen out of ignorance. Overall, people around here just don't seem to care one way or the other, though 95% of the time most any comment I've gotten has been positive. I'm trying to do more truly casual kilt wearing lately, as opposed to wearing it out and about at the pub and such or for special occasions. If only I could do my upcoming job interviews kilted.

I was at the west end of Glasgow today and a gentleman was walking his collie dog with his kilt on. Really good to see although I must say a bit chilly today. (he was wearing the kilt, not the dog as may be presumed by the way I've written it.)

It's been quite chilly here lately, but I've found that even my SWK Thrifty's have been quite warm overall with a nice pair of kilt hose and a thick sweater. My top half has always been the half that gets cold more easily than the bottom half, so it works out well. I'm still jonesing for a nice, heavy kilt for the winter months.
