1st kilt pictoral: a reverse k x-kilt

So I spent a little more time on the kilt this noon:

Cut, folded, pinned, and pressed contrasting pleat panels (it's red wine/burgundy - pic got a bit washed out)

Then I decided to mock pin a couple pleats to see how it would look to make sure I like it.

Overall I like the contrasting pleats, but part of me thinks the black/burgundy has too much contrast.

Any thoughts on the color combo?
