Might I suggest you start saving for a leather for a real treat, 6½ lbs of soft, supple leather.

I looked at his site today, I thought it said the leather is 2.5 oz. Is that for all of them, and does that mean it blows easily in the wind, or is 2.5 oz leather like 14oz wool?
(I don't know about the hemp, though it does look shiny.

I don't know about the mach5 but my original leather is 6½ yards of leather (a cow and a half) a weighs about 6½ on my bathroom scale. This will not lift in anything short of a cyclone. It is the weight alone that prevents all those pesky kilt checks .

I'm glad you took the plunge. All but one of my Kilts are a traditional design and that was all i ever thought I would go for. I got a Denim Kilt from Union Kilts for dirty jobs but never use it as an everyday thing.
But when I saw some of the more modern designs on Rkilts I knew I would have to save up and order one.
I plan to have one by the end of this year!

Very nice! And an excellent photo that shows off the color and the style--which I really like! Congrats!

Nice pics. That stream in the background got me to craving salmon though...
Own an RKilts leather too and know the quality of his work. You can't go wrong with Robert's craftsmanship.

Well alright, I hear what Chris says and there is no doubting his words. Maybe, if I was a wee tad younger and a wee tad less stuck in my ways, I might be persuaded to give them a try( not too sure about white ones though!!). I think, considering everything, I will stick to my traditional tartan kilt. Nevertheless, "praise from Ceasar(Chris) is praise indeed"!

What about when you have to change the oil in your car? Or slide down a splintery bannister? Why ruin a decent (read expensive) tartan kilt when you could try to destroy a hard wearing hemp kilt for half the cost.
