I think it looks great! But, like Greg, I'm a big fan of tweeds in general.

beloitpiper, would love to invite you to a day out shopping to the church thrift shop in the village in which i grew up. was just in there monday looking for jackets and they had a stunningly jawdropping array of frightening and offensive tweed jackets. one particular purple and orange number (yes, purple and orange) looked like a bad uniform jacket at an expensive new england private school for rich girls on crystal meth.
come along; the drinks are on me, but i'm afraid you'll have to pay for your own therapy in the aftermath...

Not sure... I've made the same inquiry. If they DON'T, it can be fixed by cutting and piecing the material and hemming the bottom (much like I did on my pinstripe).

I think I like it, but have not taken the tweed plunge, so I am not sure. I would have to see one, but I am thinking that I might like a kilt in that...

It reminded me of the "Tara / Murphy" tartan... kind of:

BTW... I heard back from the mill and the lines run AS PICTURED ABOVE... the red lines are the 'vertical ones' to the selvedge. That being said, I would probably piece the fabric together and have the BLACK lines running vertically and hem the cloth if this was for a kilt.

Personally I like it! Always been a big fan of tweed, and this one is right up my alley having a base color of green. I think i would like it even with the black lines running parallel to the selvedge instead of vertical. Guys, why would you want it otherwise? With the black lines running vertical?
If only there was money
