Kilts and Palm Trees
Greetings Everyone: I finally registered! Being retired from the US Air Force I have a diverse background. However, I am proud to be an Ulster-Scot and though I'm a Florida native my family stems from North Carolina. I bought a SportKilt 6 months ago and enjoy it very much - but the bug has bitten hard! Next week I will be measured for an 8yd, 16oz Strome Locharron Buchanan Hunting Modern kilt. Having a "real" kilt is a dream come true. I'm even going to take a favorite pipes CD to play while being measured... after all, this is a very special occasion! I enjoy the candor and knowledge of the posts and look forward to participating.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Dude. You've skipped several gateway kilts. You've gone straight to the hard stuff.
Welcome from home of the 2008 NCAA mens national basketball champions -- and congrats on the tank!
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

From Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Good for you, I think the 16oz 8 yard kilt is a wonderful 2nd kilt for you and it should see you through many formal affairs.

Awesome! There is nothing like a real 8 yard 16 ounce wool kilt! While a wee bit on the pricey side, it's definitely a good investment for your dollar.
