Loss of a Friend
Paul, the tall gentleman to the far right of this picture taken in York 2008, died very unexpectedly on 30th January. I met him in Ayrshire in the year 2000 and we spent a lot of time on days out and short breaks. I know my holidays will never be the same again without him as he was a keen historian and therefore most informitive. He had a blast here in York but who would have thought this was to be his last trip. Tom to his left has had the privelege of knowing him even longer than I. I received the news whilst at work and it was very upsetting. I am keeping in touch with his sister who is looking after the arrangements. His ex wife and son are over from Paris to assist.

We never know how long or short a friendship might be, regardless of the length; the loss of a friend is hard. Our blessings and prayers go out to Paul's family and friends. May he long be remembered with fondness and grace.
Our hearts go out to you as well, in this time of loss.
God bless and keep you.

I'm sorry for your loss. Friends are the families we choose and the loss of any family member is felt just as deeply. Take care.
