With hay at $200 a ton this past year it is much cheaper to buy kilts than horses...but then again all my horses are minis.

Funny little story... I showed my wife this thread, and when she noticed the part about "1.75 kilts a month" her comment was,

"That would be like me buying two new evening gowns a month. Wow!"

I thought about that. As a matter of a) practicality and b) good relations with the spouse, I'll probably try to keep my kilt count comparable to the wife's evening gown count... That way, I can see us avoiding some sticky, future arguments...

    Just a thought.

Not quite - the same kilt can be formal, informal, casual, business attire, out on the town, out running errands, out for a walk, knockaround the house wear. One garment, more than one purpose.
Evening gowns are ... evening gowns. A single defined purpose.

I didn't know my X-kilt qualified as "evening wear".

According to the great Panache himself, one goes through an " acquisition" phase (need another kilt, gosh I like that one, oh wow look a special).

Followed by a "presentation" stage (gotta wear the kilt "Honey want to go to the Opera? Gotta wear my Tank, "Honey of course we can go to the Bolshoi!").

To a "consolidation" phase ( Red kilt, red kilt, red kilt, green kilt, red kilt, red kilt, blue kilt. Hum maybe need to have less red kilts).

Not exactly sure what follows after that. A proselytizing stage? ( Come on bro, just try it, you'll really dig it! The Ladies love kilted guys").

An acceptance stage? ( My name is Brooster and I wear kilts, "Hello Brooster")

Or maybe just on the stage? (Presenting for one night only the Kilted Krusader!).

Ah forget it, I'm taking my flock of sheep, my herd of horse's, my rubber chicken, my crocks of all colors and going to worry about something important, like whatever happened to Lucy Lu? Did Desi Arnez ever appear in a kilt? Was Collen McLeod wearing a great kilt in Highlander II? If there could be only One how could there be a Highlander IV?
