It'll look fine! BTW it need not be a wing-tip. A formal shirt with lay-down collar is good (some say, preferable).

I agree. I happen to not like the wing-tip collars. If I ever need to do white tie, I'll wear one, but not for anything else.

Check out any of the James Bond's in a tuxedo. They are all wearing lay down collars. If that's the way James does it, it's the way I'll do it.
