Pocket Square with Argyle....yay or nay?

As my mind was wandering pre-coffee this morning I posed a question to myself: How would a pocket square look with an argyle jacket?

I have worn pocket squares with "normal" suits and formal wear and think they look pretty sharp, so in my mind they would look pretty smart with an argyle kilt jacket as well...or any other flavor kilt jacket for that matter (save possibly a PC...haven't made up my mind on that one)

So I pose the question to you: What do you think of a pocket square with an argyle jacket?

I almost always wear one with an Argyll




I find it just adds that little extra elegance. Not with the PC as it does not have a pocket to put one in.

Thanks for the photos Glen! After looking at your pictures I agree it adds that little bit of "pop" that rounds the whole outfit out.

I think this is something I'm going to start doing. I recently saw an article somewhere (I'll try to find it and post it here later) of the different ways to fold pocket squares, and why you'd fold them that way. If nothing else, it was a fun short read.

A note on my pocket squares.

I was very tired of using white hankerchiefs and found only a few solid colored and patterned ones available to me locally.

The little silk squares that came with some ties seemed rather useless to boot.

My solution was to start using carefully folded solid color bandannas from a party supply store.

They are inexpensive, come in a variety of colors, and it is a useful size if you happen to need it for something.

A "frugal mans way" is to reach into the breast pocket and invert the satin lining of the breast pocket. Odds are it will be a complimenting color and forms a nice little peak. Granted, this may only work on the "quality" of suit I purchase but if you only wear it for the aesthetics it will do in a pinch

But it does make it a tad difficult to proffer to a lady to wipe away a tear.

Gosh, I hope you are only kidding! I've never heard of such a thing and can't see how it would look nce at all.
