Do they take orders direct ?

The socks are mainly produced for wholesale.

I checked today and can confirm what Matt Newsome and I already suggested that they are in fact a wholesale operation.
Normally they would direct you to a retailer in your area.
They do not have a retail outlet in Norway and would supply direct to there if the customer knew exactly what they wanted to order from the catalogue.
If you wish to follow this up David PM me your address and I will post my copy of their catalogue to you.

It appears very noisy there - was it?

There was a surprisingly quiet ambience in the factory.
As Steve B says these machines are relatively quiet and you had to look at the machine which was turning out the country tops to appreciate that something was actually moving and a product was slowly coming off the machine.

I love the pics! What a great tour.

I think in general Hawick is my favourite brand of hose. Just a really good product for the money.

Pour1Malt - those argyle tops are wonderful. I don't think I have seen them before. I may need to find a supplier.

I thought I'd breath some life back into this thread as there has been a fair bit of dicussion regarding Kilt hose recently and I just got a pair from this company a couple of weekends ago. They are absolutely fantastic, I love them and intend to get more as and when. I found the background information on this guided tour by cessna152towser interesting and thought it probably would be too for people who may have missed it first time round.
