It is just astounding to me that you can trace your family back to the Norman invasion! Amazingly cool! Do you have a tree that traces descendants in an unbroken link or does this knowledge come from another direction?

Well I don't, but my brother who is head of the family, does. Traditionally the head of the family records family deaths, marriages and births and yes it is an unbroken line.
