Well, it's just not for me. I have a "hillwalker" style kilt from several years ago that is a 5 yard tartan kilt with a pocket in it--that I never use. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
As for those styles that I think of as utilikilt styles . . .well, they just look too much like skirts and not enough like real kilts to me. (Let the stoning begin.
) I know lots of folks here were that style, and it doesn't offend me or anything, but it just doesn't seem to be a kilt to me. But then, neither do those tweed models that are not tartan.
I'll be quiet now and let the slings and arrows of outrage ensue. I'm pretty sure I stepped on a few toes, but that really was not my intent. I'm just a little to Jock Scot for all that.
