tartan McDowell?

Does anyone here know what tartan was/is historically associated with the McDowell family? I'm not a McDowell, but I live in McDowell County, NC.

What about the Carolina tartan?

Seems to me that would be more "appropriate" anyway, but that's just my twa bob.

Carolina's going to be my next "investment". I was just wondering if there were a McDowell family connection to any clan and/or tartan. Thanks for the link, by the way.

The Ulster district tartan would certainly be appropriate, as many of NC's early settlers were of Ulster-Scots heritage.
