I'll try, but I am one of the co-directors of the Pipe & Drum competition, and will be very busy on Saturday. Perhaps Sunday, if I decide to stay.

Here is what I wore last year when helping with the Clan tent. My Bride was wearing a tartan sash with the clan badge.

In terms of what to wear when working a clan tent, I just think it is important to remember that you are there representing your clan. Therefore I think it is more important in this context to wear a proper clan tartan than it would be otherwise. For example, if I were working a tent for the Clan Armstrong, it would be important for me to wear my Armstrong tartan kilt, and not my MacQuarrie tartan kilt, even though I also have MacQuarrie anscestors, or my Carolina tartan kilt, even though I am from North Carolina.
Also, again because you are representing your clan, I think it would be important to dress respectably and put forward a good, professional image. This does not mean one must wear a tie and jacket (though that would certainly be appropriate), but just to make sure you present a more polished image.
Sometimes Games attendees, especially in the very warm climes, will be seen sporting their kilts with t-shirt and sandals. Nothing wrong with this for the person just attending the games to have a good time, but if you are there representing an organization, I would want to put your best foot forward. A golf/polo shirt or safari shirt would be ok. Kilt hose pulled up, not scrunched down. And above all, wear a smile!

While I don't man our clan tent those who do generally wear an embroiderd polo with the clan crest, clan tartan, hose & proper footwear. As has been said these people are representing the clan and do so with their best foot forward. If it were cooler (like it sometimes is in Estes) sweaters are not unheard of.

I have no doubt that those representing their clan would want to look their best. And yes, if you have a kilt in your clan tartan, that would be the one to wear. I guess I was curious about the style of shirt worn. It looks like most wear a shirt with the clan badge. I've noticed that a few from Clan Donald all wear a similar shirt. I was wandering the clan provided them. I wear the clan shirt because it has the name on it. Most probably would not recognize the hunting tartan or the badge. But the name on the shirt might stand out if I am away from the tent.
Does anyone wear historical dress while hosting a tent? I used to wear a great kilt, but a few years ago I turned the material into a modern kilt.
