I agree with the "floating kilt activity day/night" idea, but we need to plan things well in advance so we can get as many folks committed as possible.
So who wants to sponsor/plan the first one?

The "floating event" looks like a good way to get together regularly. Weekends allow for a greater range of travel. Finding a roomy, family friendly place that won't pinch everyone's pocketbook will be the challenge. Will start gathering a list of places for consideration.
As Alan notes, weeknight travel for us south of Belmont is not very attractive. The DCB site lists Angelica's Bristo in Redwood City and Jersey Joe's in San Carlos which both serve Scotch Ale. int: Haven't been to the Tied House since working in Mountain View (don't miss the commute) but the food and beer was good.
