I've not worn a kilt for any length of time, so hadn't encountered this.
Now I've got one more thing to worry about........

Just wait til you get a little older and the rate of flow will drop off enough that it shouldn't be a problem anymore, as you will be lucky if is dribbles out like a slow leaky faucet.

I really wish more men would. I only ever stand up to "go" if I can't figure out any other alternative.

    Which brings me to this...

Fellas, I have news for you: your aim is not as good as you think it is! Lift the seat please if you have to stand before the bowl.

    Regards,
    Rex.

Reminds me. Once heard that in the restrooms of English trains there were unpunctuated signs that could be read either as a statement or a command.

I'm with Ron on this topic. I prefer the privacy when kilted, too.

Many moons ago while in the Marine Corps I had an incident of backsplash while wearing Class B uniform. You know, the one that is light Khaki color.

Now, you all know how particular Marines are about their uniforms so I spent 5 mins. washing the front of my trousers at the sink and another 20 mins letting them dry before going out of the Men's Room.

From that day on I have sat down whenever possible and every time I am wearing a uniform, good clothes or The Kilt.

I too have found that sitting facing the tank is very handy. You don't have to worry about a pleat falling in.

I have also started to wipe. I'm not ruining a good Wool Kilt just because I'm too lazy to take a moment with a piece of paper.

It's just a matter of not being lazy and caring for your clothes.

I have recently see in a few public places a waterless urinal that has an imprint of a little bee. It is actually a "target" that once hit will minimize any backsplash.

I havent tried it with a kilt yet but did seem to work well in jeans.

    Here is one...
