do I wear womens hose?
okay, I spotted some hose on sale at a local shop, and when I got home and opened them up they are more like... thigh-highs. These things would go up to my waist if I wanted. Is my "newbiness" showing? Is there something I don't know? Here they are compared to my other hose.

Dan
Those should be fine, remember you need to turn down cuffs. They look like kilt hose to me.

well
Even turning them down, they are still above my knee, so I turned them 3 times to get to the right height.

And turn them back up again if need be. You want about 3 to 4 inches of turnover at the top, like a footy sock.
(I was going to put soccer sock but I think there's too many "ock"s in it...) ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
EDIT: Exactly, you beat me to it...

I have a pair of thigh high wool stockings that I use as kilt hose. I think the cuff folds three or four times, but they are long enough to go up to my knee, fold, and go all the way back down to my foot. ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
If there is a cable pattern on the top, they will need to be folded so that that pattern is the outside layer of the cuff, if that makes sense.
BTW, you can make the cuff wider, the cuffs on my Lewis hose are almost six inches wide.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

okay
Well that answers that, I thought to myself "No wonder these things are on sale, they are HUGE!" But I guess this is normal, just caught me off guard. I bought some 12-14s through USAK (the ones in black) and these are supposed to be 12's.
I will just fold, fold, and fold and be on my way. Thanks for the quick response.

They look like the same hose I wear. I fold mine down, up, then back down to give a thicker cuff look at the top. just make sure that the patern on the cuff is showing.

Just your average kilt wearing redneck.

You can tell if they are woman's hose because they open from left to right at the top. Men's kilt hose open in the other direction.
If you see abbreviations, initials or acronyms you do not know the Xmarks FAQ section on abbreviations may help.
