Waterfall hunting - kilted, of course.
My daughter and I took a bit of a hike a couple of weeks back to see a set of waterfalls. It was a great day for a hike, and well worth the trip. She took a couple of pictures of me in my Sportkilts Pacific Trail kilt:
I just can't figure out how to post the pictures!

This is the lower of 3 falls:
This is the upper of the 3. I don't know if we took a picture of the middle one or not.
The falls are about 8 miles south south west of Julian, CA.
ChattanCat and McMurdo thanks for the help.

That's a beautiful area there (and a great kilt - I have one in Black Watch myself). If I'd known those falls were there when I was in Julian I would've made a point of going to see them. Or maybe not. It was pretty darn cold that day.

This is one of the few falls in So. Cal. that actually has water year around. Many of them dry up by April or May.
It's only about a mile and a half hike from where you park the car, but there is a change in elevation of just over 1000 feet - downhill on the way in. The trail is very steep in spots, as you can see here where someone has left a rope for a hand hold:
There are several spots I wondered about the wisdom of wearing the kilt instead of hiking pants, since it would be real easy to end up sliding down on your bum...

What kind of bait do you use when you are waterfall hunting? Or do you just a humungous butterfly net?
Nice pics. Thanks for sharing them.

Hmmmm. I'd never thought of using bait. We usually sneak up on them vewy qwietly, like you would a wascally wabbit.
Maybe if we used some kind of bait we would find the hunt easier?
