    Back Surgery Interruption

It's been almost 6 weeks since I had the opportunity to read XMarks -- I went in for back surgery on 19 February ( I wore my Irisher Sport Kilt to the prep room, and boy, did that get noticed!). The surgery went well and the hospital sent me home on the 23rd. The next day, I had trouble getting up and on the following morning, when the home therapist tried to get me up for exercise, we found I could not. So, it was back to the hospital where they found infection had set in and was messing up the nerve bundles to my legs. So, I had another 10 days in the hospital whilst they knocked the infection out and then to acute rehab for about 4 weeks of rehab to build up the leg muscles so I could walk out. Planning ahead, I had my Frasier Sport Kilt handy, and wore that when I checked out. On the way to the car, I stopped by the Rehab Gym and was instantly surrounded by my therapists and several others, excited about the kilt and me walking into the gym. It felt really good, and the several wolf whistles from the outpatient crowd were good encouragement, as well.

Now, I have 6 weeks of posts to work through and enjoy! WooHoo!

Sounds good, hope you continue to heal.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

As a two-time spinal surgery survivor myself, I feel your pain. Good luck on the recovery!

Been there 20+ years ago with surgery x3 at the L5-S1 spot. I know what you are going through. Heal fast, you'll learn to "Love to hate" your P.T. because all of the hard work pays off. Maybe a kilt gives you the positive psychological advantage.

Whilst one needs to be very careful of drug interactions, just remember that a doctor once prescribe SMMRC (single malt relaxant compound) to reduce muscle spasms as the result of trauma from a bad car wreck.
