May I suggest a DIY solution?

I hate the tassels making me sound like a drummer and have accordingly removed them from more of my sporrans. You could still see the empty holes, of course, but only when the lid of the sporran is opened.
In the same way it should be possible on many sporrans to remove the three tassels and make two new holes for only two tassels.

Ya, that sounds like a good idea. Who cares if its traditional or not. Its basically a pocket to be utilized...I say modify it if you have to!

Many, many sporrans have more than three tassels.

Five tassels is less common, but seen here and there. I've seen horsehair sporrans with a ridiculous number of tassels on them. Two rows of them, like the tassels are trying to take over! I digress.
