The green would probably look good. You could probably pick any color in the pattern and match the flashes to your shirt.

sweet, thanks for the replies
Solid Lovat Green flashes would best in my opinion.
I'll back up McMurdo, but add that contrasting flashes will also work well-- yellow or red.
Also try a contrasting color. If your hose are green, try red or maroon flashes or even blue flashes. Just make sure they are solid colors.
Definitely a solid colour. Something subdued for normal or casual, toning with or matching the major colours of the kilt. Same colour as the shirt tends to look good,or picking out the colour of the tie with a jacket. For dressier times one of the minor colours from the tartan will stand out and make more of a statement, but still be coordinated. I've been studying hose and flashes (with a view to making some) - it is surprising how the flashes, if correctly chosen can really add to the colour balance of an outfit. Anne the Pleater
For my IOS I made a set of solid flashes in the purple. It makes the color really pop! They cost about $4 and 30 minutes to make. God bless liquid stitching and elastic! James
