It is something everyone need to do at least once. I have sat through 3 trials. Once as forman. A woman was going to try to hang it up. After we got to the deliberation room she said that her faith did not allow her to vote. Without mentioning here which faith she said she was I looked around. slowly. And said "I remember every question & how it was answered during the vior dire. There are 12 people here. 1 Catholic (me), 1 Morman & 10 Baptists. If you are saying you are not a Baptist I am going to have to tell the judge that you lied. Can you say 'jail'?" She voted. We put the crook away.

I am regularly called (11 times) for Jury Duty. I have been non-selected once, have served in ten trials, all as foreman. I have the habit of showing up to Jury Duty in full kit. Until 2001 that included the sgian dubh. I was only questioned about the kit once, and I answered the lawyer that I preferred to be dressed in formal attire to reflect the formality of the proceedings. (The lawyer was a slob.)
Enjoy the trial.
