It went well! Not a big deal at all. I went with the grey Argyll, white shirt, black tie, black shoes, black socks and Pride of Scotland tartan.

Got some good-natured ribbing from colleagues, which was okay by me. It was their way of saying they liked what I had on. I got plenty of positive comments, but mostly, "You look so cute!" Ducks are cute. Puppies are cute. I'd prefer dashing or handsome, but at my age (and weight), you take what you can get.

Thanks to all for the advice. I think it went well enough that after a successful Feast Day of St. Andrew, I'm going to look into the possibility of maybe kilted Mondays or Fridays. From there, we take over the world.

Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

Good to hear things went well. Friday's are a good day to experiment.

Well done! And go for it... if there can be "casual Fridays" in the workplace, then why not a day or two for kilts? To me, your outfit looks just as "professional" as a suit. Once your colleagues get accustomed to the look, it might become a non-issue.

Good for you, Phogfan. I've convinced the powrs that be in my office that for the next United Way Blue Jean Week, I can go to work kilted, but I sweetened the pot in what participants have to pay.
