on the news
I was so honored to be asked to play in the parade here locally that was a send off for the local Army National Guard unit. I marched about 8 paces in front of them, down to city hall, then to my surprised was asked to do my personal "presentation to the troops" (which I knew nothing about) on the steps of city hall, so I played "Amazing Grace" for them, then marched them down to a local church where they had lunch with the families before being deployed to Afghanistan for a year. I didn't get any pictures of me, but here is a link to the news blurb video about it. At the end I was honored by one of the CO's giving me a ANG challenge coin for playing for them. It was a very cool morning.
Cheers,
Chad

That was a great honor... and thank you for being there and taking part.
Hope you'll be up to Savannah for the Games on May 9. There are quite a few X-Markers planning to meet up there and we'll be heading downtown to Molly MacPherson's for a toast (or two) after the festivities. And, speaking of Molly's, a few of us will be getting together tonight (Saturday, 4/11) at 6 pm for a bit of a Kilt Night and we're hoping to organize a bi-monthly regular get together.
Best regards, and thanks again for your service to our troops.

Fabulous honor...well done.
My pipe band will also have an honor - to play at a military tattoo at West Point Military Academy, later this month.
