    Actually, the Campbell chief only recognizes four tartans, three for the three different "houses" of the clan, and the Campbell, or BW.

    As a Douglas, our modern also takes after the BW, many of the green and blue tartans pop up after the forming of the regiment.

    Yes, the Douglas was worn by the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), however many tartans did originate from the Governmet Sett, as noted by these articles from Matt Newsome:

    Noted tartan scholar Jamie Scarlett believed that the regimental tartan was one of the origins of the modern clan tartan.
